biography

Kal Duzay aka Darius Motes was born in the neighborhoods of Hollywood Florida. He and his young sister were raised by his mother and grandparents after his dad a local playwright and entertainer who had brushes with the law left him at a young and tender age. He inherited some of his Dad’s passion for music and writing and at the age of 14 started rapping and performing in school talent shows where he gained the respect from his elders and peers about his song writing and rapping abilities.

A local music manager called Marlon then tapped out the young Kal Duzay and the collaboration ended in them producing a mix tape entitled “Take 1” which became an instant hit on the streets. The success of the mix tape brought him into contact with George Dukes, a promoter in South beach Florida who became Kal Duzay’s new manager and he ended up being the only unsigned act to perform at DJ Khaled’s birthday party along big names such as Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Keisha Cole, Rick Ross, Jim Jones, T.I. and Lil Wayne.

Kal Duzay is signed to Upper 11 Music and is currently working on his new album and mix tape “Diamond Scars” in Atlanta Georgia with the AudioDope crew who has produced music for the likes of Ashanti, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Ne-Yo’s main producer Corporal.

biography

Justice is more than a principle to hard rock legends-in-the-making Rev Theory. It’s the sound of amplified thunder and the energy of the stage, harnessed in the studio and captured on an album that makes Rev Theory the standard bearer for rock that blends heaviness with heart.

For proof, check Rev Theory's eight-year history. They have toured relentlessly since Julien Jorgensen, Rich Luzzi, Dave Agoglia and bassist Matt McCloskey formed the group on Long Island in 2002. Between 2005’s Truth is Currency and their initial breakthrough 2008’s Light It Up — whose title track became the theme for WrestleMania XXIV and launched Rev Theory’s high-profile musical relationship with World Wrestling Entertainment— the band spent hundreds of thousands of miles in a van to play roughly 250 dates each year. That trek included opening slots on tours with many of the artist’s they respect, which included Avenged Sevenfold, Mötley Crüe, and others.

"What we learned from being close to all those great bands was that we needed to define our identity, to pinpoint the qualities that truly make us Rev Theory," Julien explains. "That meant drawing on their deepest roots, as both musicians and men. “We had to be honest about the music that inspires us, from punk rock to classic metal, and grunge to pop," he continues. "Then we needed to discover what we were really passionate about as people, and that’s honor, truth, love and respect. Those are the qualities that define each and every one of us." As an album, Justice embodies these values. In Julien's words, "As a band, we have rallied around the belief that with this album our time has come and we are going to grab it."

Brandyn Burnette
  • follow Brandyn Burnette

biography

Brandyn Burnette has been playing music since the age of 7 and writing songs since the age of 13. He credits his father, O'Bryan, as a main source of inspiration. "My dad was signed to Capitol Records at 18. Now, I’m signed to Warner Bros Records at 20 and my goal is to make him and whoever else believes in me proud."

Brandyn's primary instrument is the piano but he is also a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, ukulele, drums). Signed with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, he also writes and produces for various artists. "I wanna do it all. That’s the only way to keep gaining success. If you wanna do music, do all types, play all instruments, adapt to all styles. In my opinion, that’s the only way to grow as an artist. You gotta keep exploring your talent."

His music has been described as a tasteful blend of Soul and Pop. With a timeless quality about his songs and a major label backing him, he hopes that his debut into the music industry will be enough to land him among the stars. "Fame would be cool, but Grammy’s and a long career is the goal. Call me crazy for shooting so high but I’m not just messing around. I'm here to make waves baby!"

Brandyn dropped out of NYU on a full scholarship for acting after a semester in 2009. "I'll go back one day... after I’m filthy rich of course. NYU is so expensive... I need a couple hits first. Once this music takes off my next goal is acting- I'd love to do film. After that, world domination... what else?"

With his music career in full motion at just barely 22 years old, expect a lot from this up and coming new artist. He is recording his debut album in Los Angeles with a very talented roster of award winning writers & producers. Look out for Brandyn's music in the future as he is bound to do exactly what he aims to do... Take off.
