Darius Motes aka Kal Duzay was born in the neighborhoods of Hollywood Florida. Duzay and his young sister were raised by his mother and grandparents after his dad a local playwright and entertainer who had brushes with the law left him at a young and tender age. He inherited some of his Dad’s passion for music. He started rapping and performing in school talent shows at the age of 14yrs where he gained the respect from his elders and peers about his song writing and rapping abilities.
A local music manager called Marlon then tapped out the young Kal Duzay and the collaboration ended in them producing a mix tape entitled “Take 1” which became an instant hit on the streets. The success of the mix tape brought him into contact with George Dukes, a promoter in South beach Florida who became Duzay’s new manager and ended up being the only unsigned act to perform at DJ Khaled’s birthday party along big names such as Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Keisha Cole, Rick Ross, Jim Jones, T.I. and Lil Wayne.
Kal Duzay or Duzay is signed to Upper11 Music and currently in Miami working on his mix tape “Diamond Scarz” due in September 2013 with Audio Dope, Jeruz, Phazed , Chad Beatz and features from Kidd Kidd, Problem, Kevo Da Kid, Mark Kent and many more.
