biography
Kal Duzay aka Darius Motes was born in the neighborhoods of Hollywood Florida. He and his young sister were raised by his mother and grandparents after his dad a local playwright and entertainer who had brushes with the law left him at a young and tender age. He inherited some of his Dad’s passion for music and writing and at the age of 14 started rapping and performing in school talent shows where he gained the respect from his elders and peers about his song writing and rapping abilities.A local music manager called Marlon then tapped out the young Kal Duzay and the collaboration ended in them producing a mix tape entitled “Take 1” which became an instant hit on the streets. The success of the mix tape brought him into contact with George Dukes, a promoter in South beach Florida who became Kal Duzay’s new manager and he ended up being the only unsigned act to perform at DJ Khaled’s birthday party along big names such as Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Keisha Cole, Rick Ross, Jim Jones, T.I. and Lil Wayne.
Kal Duzay is signed to Upper 11 Music and is currently working on his new album and mix tape “Diamond Scars” in Atlanta Georgia with the AudioDope crew who has produced music for the likes of Ashanti, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Ne-Yo’s main producer Corporal.
